Buy a Home

Buying a home is a big step! Whether you’re buying your first home, your dream home, or your tenth investment property, yours will be a big investment. I know how important this is to you. And I have assembled a team of experts to make sure we get it done right.

Because this is my neighborhood too, I can provide you with detailed information about our communities, cities, and state. I have a clear understanding of the local market, and an excellent inventory of homes. I also have full access to our Multiple Listing Service (MLS) so you can shop online from the comfort of your own home using an up to date, accurate, and private web portal. Make a list of the homes you want to see, and we’ll tour them together.

The home buying process may seem complex, but I’ll make it easy for you.

  • Identify your priorities of what you want in a home, knowing that you will not likely get every single one of them if you have a long list.  You will quickly determine what you can and cannot live without.
  • Understand the market, this is important when you find a house you want to make an offer on.  I know the market well, of course, as I work in it daily.
  • Research different communities, ask me about this, as I know the Twin Cities well.
  • Apply for financing, unless you are paying with cash. I have trusted mortgage professionals who have been doing this for a long time
  • Understand the seller’s responsibilities, we will discuss this as we go about home searching
  • Search for properties, this is when it gets FUN!
  • Complete and present the offer for a home, this is  something I will guide you through.
  • Counteroffer and negotiate until the deal is just right for you.
  • Conduct a home inspection, please see my Home Inspection tab.
  • Work with the lender to provide documents that will get your mortgage through underwriting and on to a “clear to close.”

As my client, you will have all the benefits offered by a professional realtor, I’ve done this a lot.
